How do you write music? Do you do it collaboratively, as an entire band? Do just one or two people write? Do you think of writing as a group process or an individual one?
With us, our singer writes lyrics on her own and the rest of us share our ideas about which chords fit together nicely and which fills sound good here and there. Occasionally we'll be just messin around and stumble apon something that sounds really cool.
I'm an Undergraduate student, studying social science with an anthropology focus in Chicago. I have a lot of love for local music. My research project is on community and and participation in the music scene.
In most cases I am the sole writer for both lyrics and music. Other than that, we all contribute our own tunes and then fine tune them as a group.
