My band Chasing Amy has quite a history in our 2 + years together. We started via a posting on Band mix. Hoeever after some time it became apparent that a couple of the members either weren't up to par musically or tended to be really limited in what they can do. The guitarist and keyboardist decided to leave to form another band. The rest of us decided to replace them but within a couple of weeks the lead singer found out she had to move out of state because of her husbands job, so she bowed out. They all wanted to retire the name at that point but I decided that since I already put in a year to the project I decided to continue with the same name and set out finding members. Long story short it took over a year to really find the present lineup that I'm happy with. Band mix is mostly the source for the members finding each other.
ReplyDeleteLuke and I were friends since freshmen year high school. We were in different kind of garage/basement bands together that didn't do anything. Then were like screw this let's find people who wanna be serious in a band. He used to play guitar and I used to play bass. But then we switched instruments, found a different drummer, and we became Jokes On you.
ReplyDeleteWe wanted to take things futher and play more places than the coffeeshop down the street. So we started playing all over Illinois. We had some name changes, but The Fizzy Pops has stuck with us for awhile now and will stay forever. We've had our bad luck with drummers, but after much searching we found one right under our noses. He was a fan of ours after he saw us play at Reggies, and now he's our drummer. The trouble with past drummers is they had too much stuff going on in their lives, or just weren't that committed. But Jake is a great drummer that fits with our style and personalities. - Caitlin
